How it all started
A couple of years ago, our mom showed us pictures and videos of our uncle (her brother) donating food, water bottles and other essentials to the homeless in Los Angeles. He used to do this on a weekly basis, as organized by the local Gurudwara (place of worship), with our friends and family. When we saw this, we really wanted to contribute to help the homeless. Unfortunately, this was during the pandemic, so we had to think of another way to have an impact and give back to the community. We used the local Children’s Business Fairs as a way to start a business and raise money that could be donated to our cause.
Our impact so far
Over the past 3 years, we have managed to raise over $600 at these business fairs, and with matching from our parents has exceeded $1000 in impact. We have sent our contributions to our uncle, so he can continue to support this noble cause on our behalf. If you would like to help, you can contribute to the following institutions locally in the area or in California:
- Sikh Center of Seattle (Bothell Gurudwara)
- United Sikhs of Los Angeles (Weekly distribution of free meals every Saturday in Downtown Los Angeles from 1 – 3 pm)

What’s next
We have the following goals to help further our impact:
- Raise over $1000 for our cause
- Move our business online (to a website), so we can raise money more consistently rather than only at these business fairs in the summer
- Visit Los Angeles and help our uncle in person at one of these events to see the impact we are making
